English Story
In 1184, the Taira positions along the coast of present-day Kobe fell. Yoshitsune’s descent is the best-known image of the battle, but reports also name Noriyori and Tada Yukitsuna. This article follows the wider battlefield, then examines what early reports, a later chronicle, and modern interpretations can tell us about the victory.
